i dont want to spoil the campground bonfire idea but i dont think they're allowed cause the one campground i went to thats right by the beach has trees everywhere and we are always in a drought.. like i catch my yard on fire every 4th of july and new years..

but another option if there are people cool with rooming together.. there are a lot of resorts with 2 and 3 bedrooms condos with full kitchens and the couches that turn into beds.. the hotel i normally stay at (paradiseresortmb.com) has condos.. im stayin in the 2 bedroom condo next weekend.. one room has a queen size bed and its own bathroom.. then the other room has 2 double beds and a bathroom next to it.. and it has a full size kitchen private balcony and flat screen tvs in all the rooms

i just looked it up an paradise resort has 3 and 4 bedroom rooms:

4bedroom description: This unit has 1802 heated square feet and a 164 square foot ocean front balcony with access from the bedroom and also from the living room, the balcony comes furnished with 2 chairs and a small table on a 42 square foot ocean view balcony.

This condo unit has a clock radio, wake up calls, complimentary local phone calls, free cable TV, free wireless Internet, a full kitchen with a full refrigerator w/icemaker. In addition this unit also contains a full sided flat top strove, microwave over the stove/oven, toaster, blender, coffee maker, mixing bowls, cookware, silverware, plates, bowls, glasses, coffee mugs, washer/dryer, six double beds, 1 queen bed in the master bedroom (Ocean Front) and one sleeper sofa and black out drapes. Sleeps 14-16

3 bedroom: This unit has 1381 heated square feet and a 164 square foot ocean front balcony with access from the bedroom and also from the living room, the balcony comes furnished with 2 chairs and a small table on a 42 square foot ocean view balcony.

Sleeps 10-12

i'll get prices for different hotels while im down there and i will take pics of everything(cause hotel websites lie and make everything better then it is) but we'll all know some prices and stuff after i get back next weekend...

let me know if you want me to ask about 5-6 2 bed in a room rooms.. or condos.. or both

trust me, the $500 a person pricetag of you idea didnt spoil the campground idea. you can have a bonfire in a fire pit. and if we have more than one site next to each other, we can have multiple fires. so far though, everyone seems to be in favor of the camping idea, except you.

edit:

and busted, we need tents that fit people, not ants.

I clearly stated people.

Large, hefty people. My tent pole is so big that bums hide under it when it rains.

show me where the *voluntary* restrictions say no fires, and I'll believe you. SC is in a drought, but the coastal areas such as the city of Myrtle Beach aren't currently under mandatory restriction, therefore bonfires and such are at the descretion of the landowner. Even with NC being in Stage 3 water restrictions, we're still allowed fires [though not reccommended] so long as its on our own land or with permission of the landowner and all fire safety precautions are in place. Hotels, Businesses, Homes and apartment complexes aren't allowed to place pinestraw within a 25ft radius of buildings because of the fire hazard, but other than that, there's nothing else listed in the restrictions about fire. Plus, there'll be a leutenant firefighter on hand- my fiancee.

alright whatever i give.. i was trying to help out and get prices and such since i was going down there anyway and with the fact being that i go to myrtle beach at least 5 times a year if not more i would think i would know how it was down there compared to someone who goes every few years or has never been... and i said BONFIRE not little fires in the fire rings.. but you guys have fun figuring out prices and where to stay and sorry i tried helping..

and the campgrounds down there are mainly families and the one i was looking at a few minutes ago has quiet time from 11pm-7am and a 24 hour courtesy patrol so you could still get the cops called on you.. and i could warn you that the cops are pricks down there and i saw them tackle a guy into an eclipse one year (the guys head broke the eclipses headlight btw) and i dont know how much alcohol you could drink at the campsite you'd have to check.. but i know you can drink all you want at a hotel but you cant cross onto the sidewalk with a drink in your hand

sorry again for tryin to help get everyone together

DelSolSweetie...this is still like 6 months away, so we don't know what we're doing yet.

I appreciate you helping out, and would like you to still check into it. We're just discussing our options. Don't take it personally. Everyone's not going to stay at the same place. It's just not going to happen with so many people. Just give us some options and we can pick and choose, and probably still get everyone close enough that we can still hang out for most of the day(s).

someone is butt hurt. most everyone here drives a honda on a budget, otherwise we likely wouldn't be driving a honda.... so most, and myself included, can't afford hotels and such very often or for a long time. I prefer the camping idea really. It's cheap and even if you can't have wild drunken parties you can still have a lot of fun drinking your ass off because everyone is together.

depends on what i'm drinking really. i'm young, but i've got it pegged.

beer = just a good old person to be around, i'm hilarious.

liquor = aggression.

vodka = horny.

tequila = WE'RE GONNA f*cking RUMBLE, SON.

soo no one is butt hurt(at least not me.. i can go to the beach anytime i want.. i could go now and be there in 2 hours driving the speed limit.. i was just tryin to help out cause i wanted to meet everyone).. i understand the budget thing speakin i have to get an apartment in august.. im paying for my own college.. and i have three cars to keep care of.. but the $500 was only if like the minimun amount of people crashed in the one CONDO(that isnt the cheaper hotels i was talkin about).. it would be like $200 per person for an 8 night stay if it was the max number of 2 people per bed.. less if you wanna crash on the floor.. and it has 2 showers and a full kitchen BUT if you like the wilderness go ahead and camp.. i just cant stand bugs and humidity and ticks freak me out (im from las vegas.. theres no wildlife except bats and snakes and crickets haha)

so i havent drank in forever.. im probably a crazy light weight so i dont know about drinkin.. everyone at the beach is friendly though.. me and my sis went down there one year and met some random people that drove preludes and they were like "here have a bottle of vodka and some vodka watermelon"

lol

Well when the time comes, we'll just break it down like this...

Out of everyone who is definitely coming, I'll make a couple different lists in the first post (camp ground, hotel 1, hotel 2, etc).

And everyone can just post where they want to stay and I'll add them to that particular list. Then those people can get in contact with each other about reservations and whatnot.

Just when you do your "research" try to find out about a variety of places that are all within a close distance of each other. kthnx

Sarah and Lexi thanks for the searching/info. :)

Ryan, good idea about people contacting eachother...

I say we get Ben's tent (and what did you want Ben? Viagra, liquor anything...just name it) and Rick's and I'll get tents (I know a place that sells huuuuge test for very cheap...going out of business or something)...

people, IMAGINE how much fun it will be in a tent!!! in the middle of the night, someone yells "hey stop touching my b*tt you ****" and everyone cracking up...

is there fishing allowed? we could fish and then make a fire and cook them and eat them with our hands and all...

:D

i'm sure you can probably go fishing from one of the piers and there has to be a deep sea fishing boat offer somewhere around there. If not, i know there's definitely one at Carolina Beach (2 hrs north on 17) because my friend had her birthday on it last year.

chris and I have [i think] a 4 person tent and a bunch of camping supplies- the Wake Co. FD does a labor day camping trip every year at carolina beach- so we're good to go on all that, or at least most of it anyway. (also kinda neccessity around here to have it for when we have ice storms/thunderstorms/tornadoes/hurricanes & the power gets knocked out. lol)

^ice storms kinda suck but they're fun at the same time.. the tornados are not too cool though.. one went through my sis's back yard a few months ago and threw their shed into their neighbors yard.. missed the house though so that was good

theres one camp ground i was looking at for yall right by north myrtle beach that has a fresh water lake stocked with bass and some other fish...

but i'm lettin yall know again make sure to check with the campgrounds about quiet times and crap.. cause if you have to be quiet at 11pm.. thats sooo going to suck for you guys..(im stickin with the hotel.. cant do the camp thing).. but most of the campgrounds have showers and pools.. just make sure to get one in north myrtle beach so those who are in the hotels and those at the campgrounds can still hang out without going too far(or am i going to be the only hotel staying person??.. we'll figure that out after price info next weekend)

alright.. one thing though... we all have to eat at hooters.. theres two of them and one sucks but the other one has good food

oh and they do have deep sea fishing... the bf went a few months ago and their big boat broke on the way back and they were like doing 10 mph all the way back.. they came back like 3 hours late.. hahaha

they have a bunch of fun random crap down there.. horseback riding on the beach.. the thing where you get strapped to the parachute and get pulled behind the boat??(cant remember what its called haha) and they have a slingshot on the strip(you get strapped in the ball thats connected to two bungees and they let it go and you fly in the air.. pretty fun).. plus broadway on the beach and the aquarium where you can touch a shark and stingrays and stuff

yeah, good luck getting me into a hooters. I know far too many hooters girls and I hate the chain with a passion (mostly because they told me I was too busty for their shirts as its a one size fits all outfit. wtf?! and everytime ive eaten at any hooters i get food poisoning. heh) but ya'll can have fun going! I'm the same way about strip clubs too unless you've got me boozed up enough that I dont know where I am- which usually isnt a good thing.

Man this is going to turn out to be some fun.

but two things to warn you guys.

1. I snore and it might disturb some people.

2. If drinking goes down, Then I might be on the horny side. So girls bring your single friends. lol. j/k

Camping does sound like a lot of fun, But 4 walls and a roof does sound nice too.

You guys decide what to do, Either way I will be there to have some fun and meet like some people from the forum.
