Nancy Posted January 3, 2009 Posted January 3, 2009 only mods ive done so far are tein suspension and enkei rpf1's the high end is pretty good but i still think my old itr was better. the rwd thing is a little weird.
Stevotron5000 Posted January 3, 2009 Posted January 3, 2009 sweet, love those rims and the arrest me yellow. I'm pretty sure you'll get used to glorious rwd.
Pballer2005 Posted January 3, 2009 Posted January 3, 2009 i'm not a fan of the motor but i love how smooth and sharp they are. rwd is weird to you? i wish i had rwd personally but i grew up in a truck.
Ben. Posted January 3, 2009 Posted January 3, 2009 RWD>FWD. Is it auto or manual? I was disgusted at how much of a difference it makes when it's manual. Lol.
CleanGSR Posted January 3, 2009 Posted January 3, 2009 Nice. Those are decently quick but yeah, your ITR would probably be quicker. Just keep an eye on your oil levels since those are known to use oil from the factory.
lastresort576 Posted January 3, 2009 Posted January 3, 2009 make sure you know the special things in order to keep that rotorary in good shape. they crap the bed fast if not properlly taken care of.
Pballer2005 Posted January 3, 2009 Posted January 3, 2009 have you driven one with stock suspension? if so how much of a difference does the new suspension make? i was amazed at how well it handled as is and yet the ride was still very comfortable.
Nancy Posted January 4, 2009 Author Posted January 4, 2009 the rotary engine is something else, i actually like it. it feels like it can rev for days. nate- i took it to the dealer after i bought it and got the routine maintenance done, i took one look at the motor and i didnt even wanna deal with it, nothing compared to what im used to. pballer- drove it with the stock suspension and to me it had too much roll, much happier with the teins. besides, no more 4x4.
Shanebot90 Posted January 4, 2009 Posted January 4, 2009 woo, looks great. RWD is such a nice change from FWD.. god do i love it, hah.
CRG7 Posted January 5, 2009 Posted January 5, 2009 congrats! my mom has an '04. i don't really care for the way they drive. as nate said, check the oil often and always keep an extra quart or two in the trunk. that thing burns oil faster than my prelude does.
xxscaxx Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 looks good nancy. looking foward to more pics. i could totally see you rockin out that bumble bee lol.
Repsol Posted January 14, 2009 Posted January 14, 2009 That's very nice. That yellow sets that car off. And referring to lastresort, I always thought if you babied them, they wouldn't last long, but if you ran the piss out of them, they'd last longer. o.O It's what i've always heard anyways, I have no knowledge of those motors except for the fact it's rotory.

It needs to hit redline daily.
Pballer2005 Posted January 14, 2009 Posted January 14, 2009 It needs to hit redline daily. seriously? how come? gets more oil flowing or what
Repsol Posted January 14, 2009 Posted January 14, 2009 Well if that was true... then the whole thing with them lasting around 80k miles is true?
lceah Posted January 14, 2009 Posted January 14, 2009 what whole thing with 80k miles? I've seen them with more miles than that! hehe
Repsol Posted January 14, 2009 Posted January 14, 2009 I always heard that they didn't last too much longer after 80K miles if you drive them like a grandma. Not always getting on it, redlining, etc.
CRG7 Posted January 15, 2009 Posted January 15, 2009 I always heard that they didn't last too much longer after 80K miles if you drive them like a grandma. Not always getting on it, redlining, etc. you don't have to always get on it. you don't want to beat the hell out of it, but it is recommended to be redlined daily (if not once everytime it's driven). if i remember correctly, my mom has around or over 80k. she's the second owner, with the original owner treating it the same way she does, and the only problem i recall her having was the flooding/no-start issue the first winter or two that she owned the car.
