I'm getting money. Money is being used for the following since I have a D70s arriving anyday.

Nikkor 55-200 AF-S f4-5.6 ED (until I save enough for the 70-300 VR)

Nikon SB-600 flash

Stoffen diffuser for SB-600

 

That pretty much spends all my christmas money even though I'd really love a Nikon 35mm f2 as well. Hopefully the 50mm f1.8 can satisfy my addiction for awhile.

You're getting a 5 grand bonus for christmas? Geez, what lens are you gonna get since it's full frame and 5,000 bucks for just the body.

 

I'd love to get a D3. Incredible camera. On a more realistic note (for me), I plan to upgrade to a slightly used D300 once I upgrade the D70s.

 

Edit: Oh, you better get on the list as soon as you can Nancy, cause I've heard that almost everybody is backordered on the D3. I can't wait to see your photos if you get it though.

my xmas bonus this year was 3500 and i got 2000 bonus for getting a good annual work review. dony you get a xmas bonus? i guess thats the perks for working for a big company but you just have to put up with all the b.s.

I want to upgrade to a 40D or a 5D soon, I outgrew my XTi pretty quick.

 

Actually I should probably wait until the (supposed) 5D Mark II comes out. Should have all the nice features of the 40D plus more.

I don't get a christmas bonus....I'm a gov't employee technically so no bonus. I do get consistent 3-4% raises each year though which equates to about 1400/year.

I'm not asking for anything, already got way too much help from the parents this year.

 

What I am giving, I am not sure yet. I honestly haven't gotten a gift for anyone in like two years, been too busy and lacking the funds. I am trying to do something this year, but it is going to be tighter then a 14 year old, since I never plan in advance. Mainly because I never know what my parents or sister want, nor do they tell me, so when my paycheck comes around, I completely forget. I get one more paycheck before Christmas and that is what is going to have to go towards them. Thank God I don't have a girlfriend right now, trying to get my car in order is enough of a drain for me right now.

Bought mama some jewelry, dad a huge surround sound stereo system for the big-screen he just bought, step dad some sh*t for his cruiser bike and the parent-in-law's to be some miscellaneous stuff. Carport and a chopsaw for the day, some cookin sh*t for the mom..

 

My old lady is gonna' drain my pockets this year. Bought her a set of earrings that I didn't know were f*cking platinum. They were hoops, small hoops with miniscule diamonds in them. Fortunately for me I've built up enough funding between running service and doing side work with my cousin that I was able to afford them. Still got a handful of other things to get her but..yea.

 

Don't really have a wishlist. Maybe some stuff for my car. Told mama to get me some f*cking tow hooks and lca's, and I'd be happy. LOL.

umm, you people must all be rich!

 

We decided we have enough stuff. told everyone in the family not to buy us any gifts. if they wanted to get something to pick out gift cards for a restaurant or two that we like.

 

for the in-laws side of the family we are taking the whole (country-folk)family for a night in the city, dinner cruise and some fun.

my side of the fam we picked out one gift under $40 for each of the 6 people in it.

for the wife and I we are renting a cabin in Hocking Hills for mid-feb when it should be nice and snowy.
