CleanGSR
:shakes head: Just imagine 30psi of boost on a fully built B18C1 though. Probably around 600whp or more.
b16bhonda
that's really impressive...i knew the D had potential!

EH6TunerDaniel
On Vitara pistons. Thats crazy, those are cast.
Chubs
Actually I really never liked the D series until about 2 weeks ago when my friend with a D16Y8, I/H/E and a chipped and tuned P28 and the VTEC was set at 5200, he took me for a ride in it and that thing pulled sooooooooooooo hard in 1,2,3 I was amazed. TS John
That's amazing, but I do kinda feel like Hung on this one. TC GSR, man... With D series engines sometimes I feel like people are doing it just to do it (which makes sense cuz that's the definition of a hobby). Kind of like viewing it as a challenge. Tell you what -- if I hit my target in the sol (175 hp NA) just by building the D15B7, I'm gonna get vanity plates that say "D15B7NA" or something. So I guess I'm one of the people that does (or will do) it just to do it.
SolLesHonda
175whp? Better start saving. If you get a VTEC head, A6 block, P29 pistons, and a good job on headwork you can hit 160whp. With built tranny, you're in high 13's.

Chubs
Or you could just buy an H22.
b16a1CRXSiR
Or you could just buy an H22. Orr just get an old generation small block....but that's too logical right?
mycarsux
why is the curve so squiggly?
SolLesHonda
Squiggly curve = ignition problems Buying a GSR would get rocked by a 175 whp NA D. It would get killed. Some people like to not be like everyone else, and like to do things just a bit different.
(l2><
Ok, I may not know all too much about cars, but... 30 -f*cking- POUNDS OF BOOST?!? On a CIVIC??? Are they -trying- to rip their engines apart? Is it just me or is that a lil too much?!?

b16bhonda
lol wow, that was funny. dude, you can do anything if the motor's built right. yea man, they were trying to rip it apart...that's why they probably spent thousands of dollars on it. people do that all the time
TS John
Yeah, about that "liking a challenge" thing. I want to keep it non-VTEC and all. Just the D15B7. I'm going for a serious build on this one.

Some people like to not be like everyone else, and like to do things just a bit different. What does that have to do with? A GSR with 30 psi would rock a D series with 30 psi. See, now my post was relevant to the topic.
cranny
didnt you see the other dyno i posted solles , i never seen the thread again , lol.
SolLesHonda
Lol. Yeah I saw it. This thing is a daily driver. he obviously turns boost down though. Hung a K20 with 30 pis of boost would own a GSR, so there lol. Just for those who like D series.
Attaus
It's impressive for a D-series, but 30 psi on a built LS/LS-VTEC/H22 will get you 650-700 and 400 daily.
cranny
honest to god i crap you not , although would cost alot of money , a K20A built to run 25 psi , would put out around 700 horse. easily.
Chubs
My H fully built running 25 PSI would put out 500-600 WHP easily.
xxscaxx
lol. having that much horsepower is pointless unless you are trying to build strictly a track car. it would be pretty sick to have that much though.
CleanGSR
Unless you have AWD to put it to the ground......right xxscaxx.
