mountaindewguy
was thinking crower stage 2's, and a matching spring/retainer kit. info: gsr head, b18b block, compression will be anywhere from 11.3-12.3:1 depending on pistons used, aftermarket intake, intake manifold, header, full exhaust. possible port/valve/chamber job from rocket motorsports. looking for stage 2's to match the engine, or something comparable, nothing more aggressive than that. here's what i'm looking at so far: crower: http://crower.com/cat/import/honda/cams/b_vtec.shtml looking at the 2 from the bottom (the n/a stage 2's) crane: http://www.cranecams.com/?show=browseParts...Number=253-0010 buddy club: http://www.omnipowerusa.com/Products/Produ...Engine_Cams.asp blox: need help on these lol. no real info with them, which would you recommend? http://passwordjdm.com/product.asp?numReco...=&PT_ID=450 crower seems to be the best deal around. but looking at others. ALSO - looking for matching springs/retainers. should i stay with the same brand as the cams, or can i mix and match? looking to spend ~800-900 if possible, didn't know if i could budget somewhere with springs and reatainers or what. thanks! mycarsux
Who remembers that video i posted of the really really ugly/mean sounding GSR with 13.5:1 CR? That had Toda cams. Why didn't you consider Toda in your options. And why don't you go with the Stage 3 cams? They're the exact same price, except a VTEC controller is recommened. mountaindewguy
i don't want stage 3 cams, plain and simple. not being rude or anything... but i did forget about toda...
mountaindewguy
ok, also looking at the following: edelbrock: http://www.modacar.com/products/Acura/Inte...ies+Cam+Sh.html Todas - anyone know some good ones? NOT vtec killers. ZEX - stage 2 http://www.modacar.com/products/Acura/Inte...formance+C.html all help appreciated!
mountaindewguy
please don't post if you're going to tell me to use different stage cams, high dollar cams, custom cams, etc.. .i'm looking for a good, all around, stage 2 or comparable cam, and wondering if i can mismatch valvesprings and retainers, and decent brands of those as well. i'm not being rude, but i'm trying to start saving for this stuff ASAP, and need to know the cheap, but good route to go. thanks

SolLesHonda
Honestly, not selling for anyone, but you need to get RM M22X's. Little more pricey, but the power comes with the cams. If not, then go Skunk Stage 3's.
mycarsux
Because your looking in a lot of the wrong places, and asking a lot of the wrong people. ...like me don't listen to me, do the opposite of everything i suggest and you'll make the right decision. mountaindewguy
i want stage 2's. thats it. again i told you my budget, so can you recommend anything on that list? or anything comparable? i was thinking either crower or the buddy club spec ||| also, a question that can be answered here that no one bothered to, was can i mis-match spring/retainer companies with cams? like buddy club spring/retainers with crower cams or vice versa for example? mountaindewguy
i think i'm just gonna get crower stage 2's... only question is, is there another brand of valve springs and reatainers that would be safely compatable with them>? cause crowers spring/retainer kit is almost 500 bucks...? Pyrorocketeer
yeah you don't want a retainer or keeper failing on you....ever.... don't skimp on em.
cranny
check skunk2 spring/retainer kits. know a few people who ran em with success. ran thier cams as well. i agree dew , go with crower stage 2's. i dont know how much these cams that solles is bragging up are though , or thier profile. you cant tell someone to buy something SSR/solles/ without giving them the info needed to make the decision , ie , lift/duration. mountaindewguy
i'm not being mean, but yall need to learn to read. i never said i want a cheap retainer/spring kit. i said can they be compatable with other brands. and i also said safely. such as, springs and reatainers from rocket motorsports are slightly over 300, while crower is 500, so i was wondering if RM would be OK with crower cams, cause rocket is good stuff. cranny
all about the same price , the good names.
..SSR..
Yes, but I don't know why you'd get Crower 2's.
mycarsux
What's so great about RM M22X's anyway? Like why do a lot of the regs push the name so much?
mountaindewguy
i'd like to know why wouldn't i get them? whats wrong with them? if they don't add as much HP, oh well, i know they are good quality. leaving that aside, SSR, if i get the crowers, should i get gen 1 springs/retainers or gen 2 from RM?
..SSR..
Because M22X's kick ass. stock block B18C5 RM ported head RM ported AEBS IM SMSP header Hondata S200 RM M22X 238whp Gen1/2 is out. RM's new vt is out now. RM uses Crower blanks and has better QC than Crower does.
