SolLesHonda Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 B16, don't you listen to jazz ? I have been listening to a lot of it lately .. Post some of them .. who cares what they think ..
CleanGSR Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 Oh, trust me, I don't care what they think. I just figured nobody would have heard of any of them. Jazz Groups/People Michael Brecker Kenny Garrett (not Kenny G....I hate kenny g) Yellowjackets Fourplay David Sanborn Nelson Rangell Warren Hill Eric Mareinthal Spyro Gyra Bela Fleck Joshua Redman Rippingtons Kirk Whalum Michael Lington John Coltrane Cannonball Adderly Charlie Parker Miles Davis Chick Corea There's a lot more, but I could fill up an entire page with Jazz artists I listen to.
SolLesHonda Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 I have heard of quite a few of them ... Any you strongly recommend ?
CleanGSR Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 Which ones have you heard of? Yellowjackets are one of my favorite groups. I see them every year in St. Louis. Some of them are a pretty wierd type of jazz, almost a funk jazz. Kenny Garrett and Joshua Redman have similar styles to Charlie Parker and John Coltrane but with a "modern" twist. Um... tell me which ones you've heard of and I'll tell you how much I like them.
SolLesHonda Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 Yellowjackets, Warren Hill, Eric Mareinthal, Kirk Whalum, Michael Lington ... maybe fourplay but I don't recall ...
