SolLesHonda
I need a new one. My car makes a clicking tapping noise at idle, but when I push in the clutch, it goes away. I'm thinking throw out bearing or pilot bearing. Any ideas? Oh yeah, and this will be HF history - 11000 posts.
EH6TunerDaniel
TS_John is about to have an extra one......ask him.
SolLesHonda
Yeah. I'd still like to know if that's what it is before I tear out the tranny and replace it.
EH6TunerDaniel
I could do that in a couple hours, not a big deal.... Does the sound stop when you press the clutch? If so, I would say TOB.
SolLesHonda
Yeah. That's what I'm thinking it is. You can hear it at idle and while accelerating.
EH6TunerDaniel
Yeah, I would say its the TOB then. Just curious, what flywheel are you using right now?
SolLesHonda
Fidanza 7lb. Had it in for a little over a year, and just started having the problem (noise) yesterday.
cranny
its not a throw out bearing , its mainshaft bearings solles. if your car makes no noise at all when you step on the clutch , that means your throwbearing is fine , but your mainshaft bearings in your tranny are shot. take it easy on it dude. Rick B.
that happened to me solLes, your car loses like 20% of its power when that happens. get it fixed now before it gets worse, cuz once it starts to go, it goes fast. congrats on the 11,000 posts you whore. lol
TS John
You need a new trans? Better buy EH6TD's then.... Dan, double your prices!
..SSR..
Input shaft bearing. $25 + $5 seal. It doesn't lose power. Replace it or you'll have to replace your whole trans.
