i didn't know sh!t about cars until i had to help rebuild my friends 89 prelude's engine last summer.

Yeah.. personal experience is the best teaching tool.. no joke..

 

Reading magazines is nice, but you never really understand it until you get your hands dirty. It's that way for me, atleast.

 

exactly, besides, very few mags actually go step by step through the process when they show a rebuilt car, they just tell you what they put in it.

 

what really helped me is i know one of the mechanics at my local honda dealer really well, so if i ever needed a certain resource i could just give him a call or pop in.
