Rick B.
I just paid 5 grand and on tuesday im getting a gsr swap into my 97 civic ex, included in the swap is a skunk2 intake manifold, vtec controller, as well as some other parts. what kind of horsepower should i be expecting? Also, I plan on turbocharging it, what should i do to build the motor?
90IntegraC1
well, you'll get about 145 whp and 110 lbs/ft tq without that vtec controller. don't use that, it's unnecessary. i'm not the one to ask about building an engine, but i'm sure you'll get many good opinions in this thread later on. you'll run probably around a 15 sec. 1/4 mile with what you're getting installed...peace. Nancy
ditch the vtec controller. 5K is a good budget to start a turbo project. if it was me, id keep it n/a and build the top end but youll get a lot of different opinions on this one.
SolLesHonda
How much is your budget for the turbo ? It says you paid 5 for the swap, how much do you plan to spend for turbo ? I can help you build a GSR with stock internals to hit 350whp easily.
