alex37211
I have no experience with their amps, but if their speakers are any indication of the quality of their amps, they must be good sh!t. And I don't believe they are cheap.
Staninator
Well I guy I work with said that they are really good, and he has been into car audio since the 80's or 90's so he knows his stuff. Theya re a decent price and that is what draws towards them. They seem to put out good power for the price too. I used to have Audiobahn amps and Subs but someone took them from my car during christmas time as a present...

CBRF4i
Back in the late 90's this company was cream of the crop. . . quality wise, it hung with every big dog in the industry, Sound Stream, RF, JL Audio etc. . Since then, the company has been bought out a couple of times over and the quality and reputation has slid downhill a bit. They are not quite as reliable anymore, not as clean, and keep in mind that most of the amps are now rated at 14.5 volts instead of the 12.5-13.5 you will see among higher dollar amps. If you are looking for a decent bargain amp I would suggest Hypnotic amps. They push hard, so far has been reliable for the installs i have used them in, and pretty clean for what you pay for them. The only thing to keep in mind is that they do use cold solders on the boards, so like Hifonics amps they are a bit prone to fail do to vibration, so mount them away from the enclosure if you do end up going that route. So your saying that if I get the PG amp then I can't mount it to the back of the enclosure? It's hard to find another place because the back on my seat has nothing to hold it. I believe there the seat frame only has two struts or something like that.

I've ran audiobahn for 2 years before it was stolen and it never failed me once!
CBRF4i
I honestly hate audiobahn. That whole company is about bling over quality/performance. Between PG and Audiobahn, id take Pheonix gold anyday of the week. Their amps are highly over rated, their subs power handling is over rated, their high end subs are bricks to move and dont get as loud as most other subs in their class, their mid end subs get loud for the $$$$, but have extremely high failure rates, and their low end stuff isnt even worthy of being a door stop for a janitors closet how many watts do you need? and what are you willing to pay? I can probably recommend something for you.

Moneywise I'm thinking around $200 for an amp and $200 for subs? Let me know what you think is decent.
CBRF4i
With the budget you put out there and the power you are looking to push, im just going to go under the assumption that you are looking for a Sound Quality system, not too loud, just something that sounds good musically and to add a little bump behind your mids and highs. . . So I would recommend something along the lines of. . . Subwoofers: http://www.woofersetc.com/p2845/DS10D2--Di...l-Subwoofer.htm x2 http://www.woofersetc.com/p2034/IDQ12V2D2-...m-Subwoofer.htm x1 http://www.woofersetc.com/p2159/P30-12--MM...t-Subwoofer.htm x1 http://www.woofersetc.com/p4726/V1034--OZ-...3-Subwoofer.htm x2 http://www.woofersetc.com/p4905/RE12--RE-A...s-Subwoofer.htm x2 And for amps. . http://www.woofersetc.com/p6101/TXA750D---...t-Amplifier.htm http://www.woofersetc.com/p5328/S45001--Li...-Amplifiers.htm http://www.woofersetc.com/p4648/D500-1--Pr...t-Amplifier.htm http://www.woofersetc.com/p7624/R5001-Rock...k-Amplifier.htm http://www.woofersetc.com/p6419/Di4751--So...D-Amplifier.htm http://www.woofersetc.com/p5788/XT1000D--U...r-Amplifier.htm Just remember, always go by the RMS rating on the sub, and if the amp is too much power, dont let it bother you, just back off the gains and dont exceed the subs mechanical limits. I used to run my old 250watt MMATS P1 sub off a 12 watt amp

HiFonics have cold solders as well. you will still run into the problem of having to mount the amp away from the enclosure. And if you are thinking of using their Olympus or Brutus subs, you would be much better off going with Audioque HDC2's or something. They are around the same price, a sister company of Digital Designs, and will run rings around any HiFonics sub in their class. but either way. . good luck on it. Let us know what you decide. I was looking at their Brutus amps and the Zeus 10" subs. When I ran my audiobahn amp it was directly behind my subs and it never failed on me. Hmm... CBRF4i
Looks like a match. Just be easy on the gains and give them subs a good 2 cubic feet each
TLontheDL
I put in a PG amp in my fathers truck about 8 yrs ago and its still running fine now. I only used it to power some image dynamic components. PG isn't that bad for the budget.. as CBR mentioned above, PG has been bought over by many companies. A lot audio companies has been bought over and the quality has gone downhill since. Amps aren't as solid as they use to be back in the 80s and early 90s. I'm still rocking a solid RF amp from the early 90s.
