Hello. I'm 21 and live in Monterey, CA right now, though I am originally from Milwaukee, WI.

I joined the Air Force in May of this year and I am currently going through training school. I just got my '00 Civic Ex coupe 5spd (it's white) shipped to me from home. I have an AEM short ram intake on it already (did that instead of CAI cuz I got it for free and it was easy to put in), and TYC chrome housing projector headlights (not angel eyes). Other than that it's stock. I am thinking about doing a few things to the car, hopefully over the next couple months, and was looking to get some opinions on this forum. I was thinking about 17" ALT Blade 296's, tint, suspension, catback, system and short-shifter. My main questions are what are good brands, what do you think about the wheels with the car, and should I paint the sideskirts and put on the SI lip in front? Oh, the car is also debadged. And I don't want the exhaust to be too loud, just sound nice, not scream.

Anyway, just ideas, options, opinions, any help is appreciated. Here is the car...it needs a new front bumper b/c there is a crack in it where a semi ran me off the freeway going 80 mph. That was fun. Thanks!!meja7.jpg

Hi C8l!n

Have we met? alien

Nice car, haha.

Wheels look decent.

What kind of suspension and system you want?

My exhaust is custom, I went to a local shop that specializes, and told him what I wanted.

LAAAAAAAAAAME.

Welcome to hell Caiterlina.

hey stuntin!! thanks, how's #2 of 2 treating you over there on the east coast? haha

i want it lowered an inch or two...was thinking tein or eibach cuz thats what i hear alot of people have. and maybe tokico struts. I really like those wheels, you got any others you like, especially on a white car?? 16 or 17"? and for the system i have no idea...i need my trunk tho.

basically, i want my car to look like a lowered si with aftermarket rims, sound better than stock without being too loud or sounding like a lawn mower, have a nice system, and be a little more fun to drive than when i bought it stock two years ago. i dont need it to be a show car, or race it, but i dont mind spending a little money to get it the way i want it. i dont need the most expensive thing just for show, or the cheapest thing either.

hey 91integra, nice to meet you.

just meant the spelling was right.

so, anyone have any advice on tein or eiback springs, tokico struts, quiet exhaust systems, alt wheels as a brand. should i just keep the short ram or go for cai now that i have money?

Quiet, name brand exhaust system that a TON of people like and that actually looks and sounds good on an ej8 is the APEXi WS2. World Sport 2. It's not obscenely loud, nor is it as quiet as stock.

Tein springs are great. Tein products are generally top of the line, though they do make some cheaper stuff. I had the Super-Street Damper kit with the EDFC in my '00 Hatch and loved it. Adjustability from inside of the car and all.

Edit -- I'd keep the ram air..a cool air won't net a single cam that much more power. You can use it elsewhere.

...and yet you're still here.

My eibach pros were nice but not completely lowered. But I can't compare to any other brands since I haven't had any others.

And yea, I'd keep the short ram for now, unless it breaks or something like mine did.

Yea but, I'm a guy. And I've been with my queen for five years.

To answer some of your other questions, the Eibach pros were lowered an inch, if you want to go that way. The Eibach Sports are lowered like 1.6" i think. 2" is a pretty low drop. Gonna have to look elsewhere besides Eibach for that I think.

Wheels are completely a matter of opinion. If it were my car I would probably want white on white, or black on white. But since your headlights look kinda chrome-ish, those wheels you got picked out are ok.

As far as design, I like fat five spokes, and SSR's, andI like OZ superturismo's but not on a Civic.

Welcome to HF!

keep the short ram! as for the suspension, i cant help there. i know jack bout suspension. never ridden in a car with suspension in it b4. im trying to figure it all out myself. there is a thread in the del sol section called "dream suspension package" or something along those lines.

as for you being in the air force, I HATE YOU! lol! jk! i wanted to be a pilot in the air force sooooooooo bad! that is until i became to tall to fly any of the planes that i wanted to fly. so now im saving up to go to school and get my ASE certification so i can get some more hands on experience and open up my own auto shop eventually.

thats enough of my rambling. anyways like i said, welcome to HF! hope you enjoy ur stay!

wow stuntin, i'm not driving a bug, thanks for the wheel idea though...haha

does anyone know of a site that will give you a preview of what diff wheels will look like on your car in diff sizes and whatnot? i found one a long time ago and cant find it again, ugh.

what looks good on white cars?? i like silver with machined lip, what about gunmetal? or would that look lame with chrome-housing headlights?? cuz i love the lights i have and plan on keeping them. what about bronze?

i'll keep the short ram then, thank you. i thought cai would not be worth spending $300+ on for my car when i got my intake for free.

okay, so im thinking about the springs being tein or eibach, what about struts??

and as far as the system, anyone have any suggestions? im not trying to lose much trunk space at all. i dont know what brands are better or anything about systems at all for that matter.

and i'll check out the apexi exhaust. thanks so much for the advice and welcomes thus far. i'm so excited to finally get to do this with my car. i have wanted to since i was 8 or something. ooh! one more question for this post, the si lip, yes or no??

oh, and as far as being lucky to be in the AF delsolfreak, its not all that great. I'm in school to become an airborne linguist and its very, well, im not sure what word to use to describe my military experience thus far, but i guess ill just say that the military is not what i thought it would be. we waste so much time and money doing nothing it makes me sick. and they way they "train" us is ridiculous. its like being in second grade. but being a pilot would have been sweet. probably worth all the crap. good luck with owning your own shop someday, owning my own business is my goal too.

now now...the real air force is nothing like your training. dont judge too harshly until youre done your tech school. im going on my 6th year in the air farce myself. 4 yrs active duty jet engine mechanic, then reenlisted for another 6 as a C130 engine/prop mechanic. linguists have the longest tech school of 2 years, sucks i bet. i have a friend who's a linguist actually. so yeah..training sucks, but the in the field, they treat you like an adult...mostly lol. at least youll get some sweet living conditions when you get to your duty station. anyway, welcome to the forum.
