Whom says you know how to drive besides yourself ? Just because you took classes doesn't mean craptt, that is actually kind of lame I would much rather be known as self taught.

hahaha.. no offense but it you had to take classes that must mean you were a pretty bad driver ay? it takes two things to be a "good" driver. frist off time behind the wheel, two know your car in and out and how it acts, feels around "turns" etc., anybody can go in a straight line!!

i sold the monkey bars from my itr and at first the car felt loose for a little bit but then later on i didnt even notice. i think its all mental. i have a do-luck floor bar that runs along behind the front seats but that part is pointless, ill sell it to you but not sure if it would fit an em1 chassis.

I'd rather do HPDE's and be taught to drive. There is no such thing as teaching yourself to drive on track. Once you make a bad habit, it is almost impossible to get rid of it.

And if you were talking to me, NASA and ITRCA organizers say I can drive. You don't get moved out of Novice if you can't drive.

So untrue. if anybody could do it, then why is drag racing a sport? It does take skill.

it also takes a loot of money my friend. not everyone has money, and knowledge to put together a car to drag, let alone intrest to do so. thats why not everyone does it, and it does require skill, caues hell, flying down a track at 150+, aint something a brand new, 15 yearold, permit wielding, kid can do.

I beg to differ. you can teach yourself anything you want, if you try hard enough.

I'd rather make the mistakes for myself, than have some overpaid asswipe tell me what not to do at my expense.

Instructors don't get paid at HPDE's.

If the instructor does get paid, then he is probably worth it, since he has done a lot of racing/winning himself (big driving schools).

You can't teach yourself something you don't know.

No but you can adapt your own personal driving style to whatever situation your are in if you practice.

I would rather learn myself than have someone tell me that something that works beautifully for me is the wrong way. Cuz I bet there are racers out there who win regularly that have never taken a formal driving course. And thosae self taught racers could definately whoop your ass in a race.
