stickmonster(lol)
I found a very nice looking pacesetter 2 piece header and catback exhaust kit and am wondering if they are any good. It seems to have the same features as most other exhaust systems but I'm wondering what the big difference is.
BigBirdSucks
pacesetter = crap
stickmonster(lol)
I have a question though, why? Why does pacesetter=crap? How have you helped me with that? Is there something you can tell me about the exhaust that makes it crappy? Have you tested every part in the market? Cause if you have then by all means tell me which one is the best and I'll take your word for it.

stickmonster(lol)
Does anyone have any EDUCATED comments on the quality of these systems, maybe some type of substantial evidence as to why they are....as BIGBIRDSUCKS alleges...crap
..SSR..
Their quality is crap, their power is crap, their sound is crap. Whenever I feel like getting an exhaust, it will be all custom.
stuckmofo
Why did you make like 6 threads? next time use the edit button, and ask all this crap in 1 thread. Apexi makes really good exhausts.
BigBirdSucks
they look like trash, sound raspy & nasty, don't add any power....you could just take my word for it. I'm not exactly an idiot at this car stuff.
vtec28412
RSR-Ex Mag or Apexi WS Both are very nice exhausts under $500.
trixr4kids17
I agree with everyone. Pacesetter sucks. A friend of mine has it and his car sounds like a lawn mower...very bad idea...Apexi or ES tuning would be a good idea...check out inlinefour.com for more stuff
dcletten
Ive got an Apexi N1 catback, i love it, but its pretty loud, nice tone, not too raspy either
stickmonster(lol)
What do I go for if I want a low, semi-quiet tone.
revalution_racing
my friend has pacesetters and he has bad exuast leaks and well sounds like hes farting in a coffee can.
civicracer388
I have a friend who has Pacesetter headers on his Talon. Sounds like crap. He's a dumbass anyway.
stickmonster(lol)
wow that's harsh, guess I'll steer clear of that brand. But like I asked before what will give me a nice deep, low tone?
redcoupe
My 2 cents is Pacesetter is crap. In the 2nd gen supra community, they would mess up on the o2 sensor bungs. So you had to reweld your own brand new header and if something happens to it then bam you cant send it back. I wont spend my money on anything from them. Well i see your probably talking about catback systems. Im looking for one now. LOL...
stickmonster(lol)
Well, more of a complete exhaust system. From the header to the tip, if I'm gonna do any of it, I'm gonna do it all. What will produce the tone I want, I've heard it before I just didn't ask the guy what it was.
optional187
since you didn't describe the tone...i'm going to guess you heard the typical small engine rasp that comes with most weld on's. just get a weld on for your stock exhaust.
CRG7
What do I go for if I want a low, semi-quiet tone. rs-r exmag apex'i world sport tanabe hyper medallion all are around the $600 MSRP price range
stickmonster(lol)
well OPTIONAL, I could've sworn I described my desired sound at least twice. A low, as in deep and guttural, moaning tone. One that gives you goosebumps as it passes by under an overpass. not like a rata-tat-tat kinda bumble bee sound. revalution_racing
the raspy sounds like a fat guy farting in a coffee can but hey thats just me lol or a guy farting on bees... N e body else think so?
BigBirdSucks
mine is low and smooth sounding, but it's not quiet enough for me. I can't make my exhaust any quieter though. RS*R exmag sounds really nice though. I'm kinda wondering what it would sound like on my engine setup.
..SSR..
My stock peashooter owns all. Everytime I adjust my valves I love the sound of the engine with no noise adders.
stickmonster(lol)
So you have rs-r exmag, BIGBIRD, how much does that go for. I don't remember describing a raspy sound guys, I don't know where you found that but I'm sure that's not what I was looking for. As for the guy farting in a tin can, wtf. I'll probably end up getting what BIRD has, cause from the short description he gave it sounds like my desired tone. However I don't know what it'll sound like on the y8. Also SSR sounded like exhaust isn't that important, he seems to be doing fine without aftermarket systems so I might even end up leaving that aspect stock until It becomes necessary.
