..SSR..
Fastbrakes rock. Don't change your font and everything when posting, thats annoying as hell.
TLontheDL
im riding on axxis metal masters right now and the stopping power on those guys are great! the only downside is that it gives off break dust like a bitch so if you have aftermarket wheels, you'll have to clean them often. b18crx
powerslot rotors are good. drilled rotors are known to crack. i have a custom brake set up on my rex
TLontheDL
what are power slots and what are drilled? don't they both have holes in them? ive seen some that have holes in them as well as um...whatchamacallit...diagonal slits to relieve friction? i think the diagonal slits help reduce temp. the holes are to relieve the brake dust..that i know
b18crx
i have the slotted ones the cross-drilled crack inbetween the drilled point alien
optional187
mark: the diagonal slits are slotted rotors. the let gas and heat escape from inbetween the pad and rotor. the ones with holes are drilled, which basically do the same thing...they even make rotors that are both slotted and cross drilled. my parents harleys have cross drilled rotors on them...they look awesome because of all the chrome. TLontheDL
well, i already know what the holes function as. i just didnt know the slits do the same. but how can it relieve brake dust if its just slits and not a slit that is cut through the whole rotor?? its like a slit that goes half way down through the rotor. plus, i thought the slits help reduce friction. wouldn't you WANT friction btw the pads and the rotors in order for it to come to a halt? ..SSR..
Get non drilled or slotted rotors. Get good brake pads and make some brake cooling ducts for the front. If you make the brake cooling pads, make sure you make the ducts go to the bottom of the rotor on the backside of the rotor.
optional187
the slot's aren't for brake dust, they're to get rid of excess heat and to let the gases that build up between the pad and rotor to escape so that you get more surface area of the pad on the rotor to shorten your stopping distance. JDM Jackass2
i like OEM brakes. CTR 5 lug with NSX calipers is what i plan on doing eventually... fastbrakes/wilwood would be my next choice. by the way, cross drilled and/or slotted rotors suck ass. lets see here: less surface area, and prone to cracking. sign me up! yeah... fuk that. EGRacer
brembo slotted rotors all around with axxis ultimate ceramic pads. thats what im running
jew4u2nv
im also looking for better brakes. right now i have the stock si hubs/brakes. need to be bigger. oh yeah .... JDM Jackass2by the way, cross drilled and/or slotted rotors suck ass. lets see here: less surface area, and prone to cracking. sign me up! yeah... fuk that. i guess all those touring cars/ rally cars/ nascars should just quit using them ? ....0wn3d. optional187
racing cars use huge diameter disc brakes, the huge diameter makes up for the loss in surface area. slotted rotors for your car come in stock diameter, therefore they don't make up in loss of surface area. ...OwN3D. nobody will ever own jdmjackass2, its near impossible. EGRacer
i can i can. lol i probably could if i tried but i enjoy his commentary so i let him be. anyways my drilled and slotted rotors dont loose any surface area because they are about 1" bigger overall. they are great rotors but a bitch to break in
optional187
i'm probably going to be getting powerslots or brembo slotted rotors for my car in a month or so...i already warped the stock ones braking down from 135.
