Concannon
I have a 97 honda accord sadly its automatic but around january im going to convert it but in the meantime i want to throw a T3/T4 turbo on it. But i want to know if the tranny could hold 8 pounds of boost and not grenade it, of course thats with not getting on it all the time or running the piss out of it. Just every now and then get on it. BrIaN EG2
"throwing" and turbo kit on a car without supporting mods will just grenade your engine not your tranny
Concannon
well yeah i know that im just saying will the tranny be able to handle it
BrIaN EG2
as long as you dont drive like a tool bag all the time then yes it will.. i say manual swap first, then build the engine, THEN put the turbo kit on.. itll take a while for some power but itll be worth the wait and you wont risk blowing your sh!t up
cmgogo
the tranny will be fine, but the weak link is the flexplate/torque converter. As they are saying, swap manual, then boost.
Concannon
Yeah be smart to then i would really have to build the motor and get a tune cause i know i wouldnt be running just 8 pounds be pushing more than that, thanx
