MarineSniper217
Anyone know any way on how to mount a tire in the garage? Im trying to get a 205/40/16 to wrap the rim, but the last 10-12" or so wont budge. Im trying not to tear the bead, but I dont know what else to do. Easyer just to take it in? Xeryon
take it in. you can do it with a pair of crowbars but unless you are working with a steel rim you will tear up the wheel even if you manage not to mangle the tire. used to do this all the time with semi tires but those rims were massive and the tire bead was a good two inches thick. one tire and one rim already dismounted: most small shops might not even write it up if you spot the mech a 5 for his two minutes. alex37211
bake the tire in the oven on 400* for 10 minutes and then spread some transmission fluid on the edge of the rim. Or take it into a tire shop.
