Hatch92
1) you don't have to type in caps. 2) its performance parts not mods. as for building a d-series (1.5L and 1.6L) it's possible however it's easier to build a DOHC motor (B-Series, H-Series, or K-series). That motor would be a good one but see if you can get a d16z6 with the ex or si tranny for starters. if your going all motor on pump fuel you can see about 170-180whp. not too bad for a sohc. What type of power are you looking for?
cranny
they are definitely alot tougher than B series engines thats for sure. dam near bullet proof the little bastards , lol. Ex tranny would mae a hell of a difference. but if he orders a JDM D15B , it will come with an Ex tranny. also same head as a Z6. USDM parts are compatible. the OBD2 D15B is different though. Hatch92
don't get me wrong the SOHC motors can be built and made fast. So if your looking for a cheap project then the D15 would be a better for a inexpensive DD.

Hatch92
i thought they did away with the D15's after 96. i thought all the 96-00 civic's had a D16 and the 01+ had D17's?

In some markets they kept the d15b and made it with 3 stage vtec a combo of the sohc vtec and sohc vtec-e systems
