PROFILES2000
sounds like you got the wrong ECU in the perhaps a single cam VTEC ECU that wasnt converted properly
optional187
whats the redline on a b16 anyway?

gsxtc
i thought 8200 i think i got the wrong ecu too the guy who did the swap for me said that some ecu s are like that
S14Silvia
my rev limiter was 9000, but the redline was around 8100-8200 cant really remember, it was off my stock tach anyway yeah the newer b16's have lower red lines and lower rev limiters, the b16a1's? i think, the 91 sir's have a 8200 redline and a 9000 rev limiter. however since you're at 7500 i'd say you have a sohc ecu still, which will work but only gives you 3000 rpm's of vtec. gsxtc
yeah i think so to i meant the rev limiter is at 7500 not the red line i have no idea where the redline is
optional187
red line on a sohc is 7200, but the rev limiter is higher than 7500...just not sure what it is.
gsxtc
i want to give it a tune up should i go with the denso plugs or ngk and what gap should i set them at? also what wires are the best?
Hatch Addict
Ive heard it you get a bigger or aftermarket fuel pump it will let you reach your full potentnial, at least when my friends B16 was reving out at 7800 in his Crx, that was the problem. SimplyPimpin
its not necessarily the plugs that you choose but the plug application... you want them hot but not too hot, i have NGK's now and i think that they are working just fine.... ALLTHROTTLE/Noboost/Nobottle
I ave a Crx with a b16a j-spec and it redlines at 8200, or higher cant really tell cause it goes off the tach but if it redlining at 7200-7500 its a ecu from a single cam vtec. you need an obd1 ecu which will make your redline 8200 but u have to be careful if u take it to high u can blow your valvetrain cause the stock valvetrain can only hold up to about 9000 rpm. The b16a j-spec makes peak power at 7500 anyways but i always take it to 8200 lol i only take it to 8200 when i have a good race.
BigBirdSucks
my del Sol redlines at 8200. I only use NGK plugs and plug wires. anyother plugs except for denso is junk IMO
