mycarsux Posted February 1, 2007 Posted February 1, 2007 HOT DAMN!! too bad it lost by .1 sec, lol. still DAMN!!!
xer0 Posted February 1, 2007 Posted February 1, 2007 the thing almost flipped holy crap. the lil buggy needs wheely bar
CleanGSR Posted February 1, 2007 Author Posted February 1, 2007 And all that with the top down.....that's what makes it crazy.
90IntegraC1 Posted February 1, 2007 Posted February 1, 2007 damn, needs a wheely bar.... i've never seen a 10 sec. fly up like that....it's usually the 7-8 second cars that freak out lol....
cranny Posted February 1, 2007 Posted February 1, 2007 im suprised they let him run that car without a wheelie bar. under certain times the rules change. if he had a wheelie protection hed blow that other car away. hes half on it , half the dam track prolly.
Pyrorocketeer Posted February 2, 2007 Posted February 2, 2007 oh yeah, they get those wheels up there. some of those beetles can get kinda scary when they are lifting the wheels going into 3rd.... lol if you think the convertible is bad, there is a guy around me thats running 10's on a fiberglass dune buggy..... no roll cage.
Humphries Posted February 2, 2007 Posted February 2, 2007 i miss my bug. it ran 15s... just a 1600 CC dual carb'd motor in there but it was nice as hell.
Pyrorocketeer Posted February 2, 2007 Posted February 2, 2007 you didn't run 15's even on a 1600 dp with dual carbs.
xer0 Posted February 2, 2007 Posted February 2, 2007 lol if you think the convertible is bad, there is a guy around me thats running 10's on a fiberglass dune buggy..... no roll cage. that is nuts
CleanGSR Posted February 2, 2007 Author Posted February 2, 2007 That driver has some serious balls though. To keep the hammer down like that when the thing's all over the place the first 1/8th.
Humphries Posted February 3, 2007 Posted February 3, 2007 thanks for telling me what i ran, ricer! yes i did
Pyrorocketeer Posted February 3, 2007 Posted February 3, 2007 what for carbs? 48 idf's couldn't even do that. stock tranny, internals, valve train, and heads, and exhaust, no you didn't. edit: stock 1600 in '73 ran a 21.4 second quarter mile..... says a few of the old beetle books in my room. so you shaved 6+ seconds off with dual carbs alone? LOL you can think what you want. I know you didn't.
CleanGSR Posted February 3, 2007 Author Posted February 3, 2007 Of course he doesn't have a time slip. Nobody on here ever has proof to back up what they claim.
Humphries Posted February 4, 2007 Posted February 4, 2007 no i dont have a time slip.. i dont know what was done to it, i just drove it for a few months while we built it.. i was 15 when we got it and knew nothing about the car, just fixed it. dont know what your VW lingo means.
Pyrorocketeer Posted February 4, 2007 Posted February 4, 2007 they are basically the largest carbs you can put on. 48mm 2 barrel's. waaay overkill for a 1600. ......anyways....
XScarAudio Posted February 4, 2007 Posted February 4, 2007 Of course he doesn't have a time slip. Nobody on here ever has proof to back up what they claim. Damn man...you've gotten bitter~! I agree though. I'm yet to see a time slip for an amazing so-called time on here.
Pyrorocketeer Posted February 4, 2007 Posted February 4, 2007 but its true tho... how many ppl have said they built, or they were gonna build, but it never goes beyond the "design" stage. so far the only build that i've actually seen evidence of is Dan with his teg. thats it.....
GsrCrx Posted February 4, 2007 Posted February 4, 2007 I can promise you my crx will start being put together soon... Just as soon as the kid puts the knuckles out of the integra inth the crx so I can get it towed here... Ive got the ECU and the Motor...
Pyrorocketeer Posted February 4, 2007 Posted February 4, 2007 ok lol dan's isn't the only one. there have been a few more. I'm on my second restoration, and 3rd engine build..... come on guys catch up! EDIT: forgot all about the rail too! 1 from the ground up build, 2nd restoration, and 3rd engine build.
GsrCrx Posted February 4, 2007 Posted February 4, 2007 Im hoping me and my friends can get this together with minimal trouble.... The bitch part is going to be doing the suspension in my driveway... Anybody want to lend me a press :-D
