what rpm to shift

the whole point of redline is to let you know that you will blow crap up if you start revving past it.

go to redline, but dont push it past it.

most n/a engines should be shifted before redline anyway.....you are making more power by shifting into the next gear than you would be in the current one. thats when you shift.

with boost.....thats a different story. it should keep pullin and pullin until your compressor can no longer keep up with your air consumption or you blow your motor.

yeah thanks guys, earlier in the night I was flying around my neighborhood and putting it a hair above redline and getting incredible results. A gang of black people tried chasing me down in another car and they didnt have a chance even with me powering through and not using heel toe around the corners.

I can honestly say that tonight was the best driving I have ever done

yeah heel toe takes some time to learn.

oh, and that turbo comment, isnt true. just because you are making boost doesnt mean you will hold all of it till redline. my car makes peak power at about 6500 (i think) and i have a redline at 7. my turbo holds peak boost till about 6500, so, if you think about it, that extra 500 doesnt do much.

when i get my new turbo ill be holding peak power all the way to redline. it depends on what turbo, and your setup.

oh, and speaking of corners. my new suspension is AMAZING.
