WRX Driver03 Posted January 18, 2003 Share Posted January 18, 2003 The car sales were actually way down, the Lude also really had no functionallity in the lineup Honda had. The S2k became the new sports car of the lineup and the new Accords were becoming faster and more improved than the Prelude. Either Honda would have had to detune the new Accord so it wasn't as fast or faster than the Prelude or make the S2k faster and improve the Preludes numbers to become more of a contender. Honda didn't see either of those options worth doing, seeing as how bad the sales were for the car anyway. Hence the dropping of the Lude from the lineup. Just one to many in Honda's line-up. And one to many in a crowded segment. And since the Prelude sales were down, it was time for the Prelude to go. Don't know why they never really took off... As for the DragonBall thing...yah I have no clue what happened there. I bet it was them damn asian-ravers.
