Caspers_Civic Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 Anybody succesfully converted their hood to a flip hood "opening from the fron tlike a corvette"? If so please help me. I tried last night and ran into some problems. I have a 2000 Civic
xalexjx@yahoo.com Posted February 19, 2006 Posted February 19, 2006 yea...just buy an older prelude...they open reverse,....so do some of the OLD OLD civics
Humphries Posted February 19, 2006 Posted February 19, 2006 yeah.. buy another car.. good answer. get hinges, weld them to the top of the metal piece under the hood..
DJB98LX Posted February 19, 2006 Posted February 19, 2006 Don't convert it period. Looks wise, it's ugly IMO, and working under the hood is a pain in the ass!! Find an old Buick with it, and try working on it before putting one on your car, you won't want to!!
Humphries Posted February 19, 2006 Posted February 19, 2006 doesnt matter if it's ugly or not.. its what the owner of the car wants.

airjordan223 Posted February 19, 2006 Posted February 19, 2006 i think he was doin a lil +1 action but didnt write the +1
Humphries Posted February 19, 2006 Posted February 19, 2006 lol. no, no one has done that modification to flip the hood on this forum that i know of.
Timmythewop89 Posted February 19, 2006 Posted February 19, 2006 what does IMO mean. as for the hood, its a useless idea. what are you gaining form doing it?
xalexjx@yahoo.com Posted February 19, 2006 Posted February 19, 2006 imo=in my opinion imho= in my honest opinion
Caspers_Civic Posted February 20, 2006 Author Posted February 20, 2006 I know that i'm not gaining any thing from it but I am working on putting my car in our local show. I found a way to do it i think if it gets done i will post some pics also +3 on the +1 thing
DJB98LX Posted February 20, 2006 Posted February 20, 2006 doesnt matter if it's ugly or not.. its what the owner of the car wants. Sorry if you thought I was being a jerk!! I thought people posted things to get others opinions, in which I gave. I wasn't trying to be an ass, and the real point was about working under the hood. I personally disliked everytime on of those came into our shop, so I just wanted to point out that factor.

CleanGSR Posted February 20, 2006 Posted February 20, 2006 My suggestion would be to reverse the hinges and the latch to opposite sides. You'll probably have to do some welding and make some brackets to get it to work, but you should be able to just do some minor metal work to fab it up.
InfinitePrelude Posted February 20, 2006 Posted February 20, 2006 nice quote.. but why'd you quote me. cus i couldn't put it better myself.
