  1. Called Honda to get this recall done as I needed to take it in anyway as the cruise control no longer works nor does the wireless phone charging. They still don't have the part to fix the recall!
  2. Let us know how it goes. I understand from talking to our service representative that replacing this cable takes a full day. They have to remove the dash to get to the cable! If anyone has already had it done please chime in.
  3. This could be related to the MOST cable recall. Go to the NHTSA.gov site to see if your Pilot is included in the recall and exactly what it is and what the fix entails. You'll have to enter your VIN to check. "American Honda Motor Co., Inc. (Honda) is recalling certain 2019-2022 model year Pilot and 2019-2023 model year Passport vehicles. The Media Oriented Systems Transport (MOST) communication coaxial cable was improperly designed and manufactured, resulting in deformed terminals and potentially causing poor, or lost, connections intermittently between the audio display unit and the vehicle cable connector."
  4. Just in case you didn't know what the number is on the clock face - I didn't/DUH! - it is the date. My wife who is MUCH smarter than I am knew immediately. 🙂
  5. UPDATE: Received a response from Honda regarding this problem in my '23 Passport. "American Honda is currently aware of an issue with the wireless charger, and our engineering teams are currently looking into a fix for the issue. We do not have an ETA at this time as to when a fix will be available. Once a fix is available, you will be notified via mailer and be directed to the dealership to have the fix applied to the vehicle." I am not sure how many of the Honda vehicles this applies to. I specifically asked about mine and provided my VIN. MORE: So I discovered that a Honda Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) A21060B (link below) from June 2021 exists stating Honda is aware of the problem and "are working on a fix". Over two years and they still don't have a fix! Sad! Why even put in a part when you know it doesn't work? Why not ask one of the other dozen or more car manufacturers how theirs do work??? https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2021/MC-10198767-0001.pdf
  6. While I was in my dealership this week inquiring about the MOST cable recall I also asked about wireless phone charging. To be precise mine does not work. iPhone 14. I was told that it is not just my vehicle, Honda is aware of the problem and currently there is no fix! Maybe they should take that off the window sticker ;-(
  7. Stopped by my dealership to discuss what this entailed to replace the cable. They told me the cable is located behind the dash and will require a full day to replace. I just purchased my Passport in March and am not really happy about them having to tear into the dash although after they have done a few maybe it won't be a problem and nothing else will be damaged. If you aren't aware of the recall you can go to the NHTSA.gov web site, enter your VIN and it has an explanation. Currently this applies to '19-'23 Passports and Pilots. Has anyone had this done and if so what was your experience?
