garret turbo

thankyou. i cant wait!!!! tomorrow is the day i get the rex. its going to be so much fun with a turbo. ill go try and race an sti and see how i do.

 

but the turbo will have to wait a week while im doing the swap from the high compression motor to my gsr.

go ahead , put a T60 on your car , see when it spools , lol. i was exaggerating though , it wont be 6 grand. but why put too big of a turbo on your car? waste of money. and ive never smoked crack thanks. im pretty on the money for the most part dont ya think.

im getting the turbo kit with the car. welcome back sonny!!! no i wont be getting botox, im beautiful enough already. lol. the bank wants my civic back. so today im getting a crx, ill be swapping my gsr back into it, im parting out my civic and returning an empty shell to the bank.

yeah, its gonna be great. man are they going to be pissed, lol. maybe ill have it stolen. =)

but yeah, about the turbo. im getting it with the crx, it just isnt installed.

it has everything i need except for injectors, boost controller, and the guy said something about a FMU. dont know what that is, but i have around $700 and ill go buy the stuff i need. can you guys help me out.

im getting the turbo, piping, intercooler, a blitz blowoff valve, and thats about it, or at least all i can remember at the moment.

FMU = Fuel Management Unit

 

Boost referenced FMU is placed on the return fuel line after the fuel pressure regulator. It has a vacuum reference line and, under boost, will restrict fuel returning to the fuel tank and thus raise the fuel pressure in the fuel rails. Higher fuel pressure = more fuel the injectors will flow at any given cycle.

 

 

Better just to upgrade the pump, injectors, and get a tune. FMU's are a bandaid and if by chance the FMU fails or the vac. line comes off during WOT you can bet on cratering the motor.

prolly joking, but that wont fly. considering that theyve already asked for it back, and it got stolen the day before they asked for it back - it will look really fisshy.

 

what you should do, is if your trying to get it parted out in a hurry. take it to a tune shop, see if theyll buy it from you. they make give you 2-3 grand for it, maybe more. the beauty of it is, is that nyoull get a decent ammount of money all at once, the part out doesnt linger, and theyll do a pretty good job, because theyre trying to cover their asses too. hell theyll prolly even dump the car for you, so its as FAAARRR away from there shop as possible.

well here is what happened today when i went to get the crx.

it was a frankenstein monster. jeeez it was in such horrible condition. first off, to give you a kind of hint of the state it was in is this, it was a gsr block with a regular b16 head. he was using d-series spark wires for the car, which means that when i went to plug them into the spark plugs, they were sitting about an inch above the valve cover. then his cold air intake was nothing but a short ram intake with a piece of pipe attatched to it by rubber hosing and going down into the bumper. he didnt have all of the valve cover screws, the fuel rail had only one of the screws holding it in place, it was missing a radiator hose, there were wires everywhere, i couldnt figure out what they were from. and thats just the engine compartment.

 

now for the rest of the car. the paint was pealing all around the car. the body kit was broken in some places. it had two rims on the front and steelies on the back. the driver door was missing the door lock and the window would roll all the way up with the rollup handles falling off the interior of the car. the top part of the dashboard was there but the bottom was MIA and wires were everywhere. there was tattered carpeting but ended just behind the seats, a big 5" tach that was stuck at 9500 rpms, had a pretty blue shift light though. lol. it also had one of those big ball shaped shift knobs from autozone that have the led blinking lights in them. ugh, there is too much to write. all in all. im not getting that car.
