404 - User Not Found
I wanna find a way to get some more Naturally Aspirated torque out of my B18B1. Anybody have any ideas? I know Turbo, but I'm talking Natural Aspiration here. Thanks

404 - User Not Found
Okay. What exactly is involved in a port & polish? I know that Gran Turismo has it as an option, but beyond that I have no idea.
CleanGSR
cams and Intake Manifold....most things that gain torque will also gain equal hp. If you go with headers, get 4-2-1 not 4-1 if you want torque.
CleanGSR
Okay. What exactly is involved in a port & polish? I know that Gran Turismo has it as an option, but beyond that I have no idea. Taking off the head and give it to a machine shop that does that kind of work and they will do it for you....I don't think that is something you can do in your garage at home.....much more extensive. XScarAudio
can be done w/ a dremel pretty easily...just takes a little research...basically it is just opening up the ports on the intake mani. I wanna do it at some point
CleanGSR
Port can be done with a dremel but can you really polish the cylinder walls with a dremel.....I am correct in thinking that the polish is of the cylinder walls aren't I?
XScarAudio
very well might be. i may have just missed that part. i thought it was take away material, then clean it up in the intake mani
404 - User Not Found
So, from what I'm getting, take off the intake manifold and the head, take a dremel to the mani (somehow, I don't quite understand what to do here) and take the head to a shop for maintenance. CleanGSR
I believe the polish part is where they polish the cylinder walls and actually put very small grooves or something that help prevent detonation. Port part is where they round out where the intake manifold comes in to make air flow better. Then there is 3 angle or 5 angle valve jobs which do something else I think.... somebody who knows more about this should explain a little better. XScarAudio
http://www.junauto.co.jp/processing/explain/port-polish.html its all intake/exhaust related i guess....intake mani and valves.

MeAndMyHonda
Then there is 3 angle or 5 angle valve jobs which do something else I think.... somebody who knows more about this should explain a little better. I not 100% sure on this one, but this is want i got out of it in my class i took here. When you change the angle it allows it to open up more and make a wider area for air to flow so you can get a little more air into the cylinders. But i think that it also makes it so that the valves won't completely close, so you have to grind the area around where the valves close to make it seal better. Like i said i not fully sure, just coming off the top of my head from what i remember in class.
