fuzzylogic
I heard from a friend that now, you dont need to break in the engines on new cars. He told me that the factory already does that. is that true?
BuddySol
I believe they still have you break in your engine. It's in the owners' manual... Altho, has any heard of this technique of breaking in an engine? Contradicts everything when you think breaking in an engine. *CLICKY HERE*
..SSR..
Yes, 2,000 mile break in and then an oil change. As far as that tards method of breaking in = crap. If it's a race engine, run it at 3,000 RPM for 20 minutes.

optional187
everytime my parents trade up and get new harley's they go by what all their friends (mostly harley davidson mechanic's, shop owners, long time vet's etc) tell them. for the first 500 miles don't go above 3500rpm, and don't go above 55mph. if i spent all that money on a new bike or car (my parents spent more money on two harley's than they would have if they would've got a 50th anniversary corvette) then i would definetly go by what the book says instead of what some dumbass claims.
