ssabetta
Ok i really need some advice from someone that knows. First the car was sent to a shop to get the valves adjusted. i picked the car up and noticed a loss of power 7 miles from leaving the shop it started jerking back and forth in first gear and knocking seemed to come from top and bottom so i shut it down it hadnt ran for a year in that year the distributor got stolen, i put the distributor on today and had to rev it to get it to start. it then threw a rod and cracked the block. So question does that mean he is in the clear and it isnt his fault or could the valves have anything possibly to do with this. need advice would a specialist still be able to tell if the valves were to tight or to loose? James Matteu
Any rights you had as a consumer have long expired. You should have called the shop right away.
DelSolSweetie
not to mention that if you didnt change fluids etc and take precaution before starting the motor you could have been the cause of it

I did it hadnt ran because it was in the law suit, so i had contacted the shop. My attorney told me to get it runnig because the courts said to take it to an expert, the expert wanted it running so i got it running then threw the rod
ssabetta
not to mention that if you didnt change fluids etc and take precaution before starting the motor you could have been the cause of it i checked all fluids and had a certified mechanic there before starting it, i think the rod is on me, but i got a call today from the expert today and he said the valves were adjusted too tight i just wander if that could have affected the bottom of the motor. James Matteu
No, tight valves cause excessive wear on the camshaft, springs, etc.
