Ali Posted May 27, 2002 Share Posted May 27, 2002 IIRC the letter donates block type and family, the number is engine capacity and the second letter is derivative ie VTEC/non-VTEC/16v/8v etc The B letter is also used on the SOHC non VTEC CR-V which is B20. Makes me wonder if you could take the B18C head and put it on the CR-V block for a genuinely scary car!!! Others i know: F20A is the S2000 K20 is the new iVTEC 2 lite in the CTR, ITR and RSX-R.
