Honda kick start

I have a 91 Prelude and today it would turn over great but wouldn't fire. So I tapped on the little silver box at my left floorboard area with my foot and it started right up. And it has ever since then. What would my problem be? Also another question, While driving with it shifted into high gear (Automatic) the rpm's jumps a couple of hundred rpm's (Back and fourth) without giving it gas. Any idea? Thanks for any help...

check your fuses, you might have a blown fuse, thats where you fuse box is where your kicking your foot. there is also a fuse box under the hood that you should check as well.
