00' Ex
They never were coupes, all come convertible. You can buy aftermarket hardtops though just look around for them.
CleanGSR
Honda had an optional hardtop available from the dealer. I think that's what he's talking about.....I'm guessing their not available for the newer models. From the looks of it, I'm suprised that the hardtop would be any different. I think they make a carbon fiber one but not 100% positive
CleanGSR
Honda didn't make a carbon fiber one, but Mugen did/does.

Buddy Cole
i thinkg the hardtop is so damn good looking. i personanlly hate seeing s2k's with the tops up, cause its vinly ya know. with the hardtop, it looks clean with the top on. given its a pain in the ass to take off, just make sure its not gonna rain when you have the top off, or your F'd in the A. It requires 2 people due to the size, but it's not hard to take off. The S2000 should have been a coupe.

shishpanik
s2k looks better with the top down IMO. If anything, if there is a next generation, it should just be a hardtop convertible like the mercedes slk or sl class.

If anything, if there is a next generation, it should just be a hardtop convertible like the mercedes slk or sl class. That'd just make the car heavier...but I suppose the S2K wasn't meant to be a "true" race car. Hooray for roadsters! It'll be interesting to see what Honda plans to do with a "second gen" S2... ...here's something vtec.net ran about the Road&Track speculation: http://www.vtec.net/news/news-item?news_item_id=617521
shishpanik
If there's a hard top miata, there should be a hard top s2k. s2k > miata yet it still competes with it. Meh.
