xtc
My transmission died on my 2001 Civic. After some discussion with Honda Canada they have agreed to pay for 1/2 the cost of another transmission. Options from Honda are a brand new transmission cost $5000, I pay $2500 or a Honda Canada provides a rebuilt transmission cost $3500, I pay $1750. My other options is my independent mechanic will put a used transmission it for about $2200, he claims the tranny has 40,000 kilometres on it. All above prices are in Canadian dollars and include taxes. My engine has around 170,000 km (105,000 miles) on it. What option do you guys feel is the best and why? Thanks! Benji
I work in a salvage yard, so I would vote for used. "all cars run on used (road tested) parts"
..SSR..
If you will be selling or trading it in the future, go with the rebuilt.
