vteclude22
I drive a 97 prelude and the 5th gear syncro is going bad and i have heard to put pennzoil syncromesh in the tranny and my problems will be solved, but i have talked to a guy who works at a honda place and he said to just put a little syncromesh and the rest 5W-30 motor oil or something of that thickness. I am very unsure of what to do. I know exactly how to do and i am ready to do it, but i just want to make sure what stuff and how much of that stuff to put in. HELP i am waiting and i really hate the feeling of a bad syncro.

Kastigir
The stuff you're looking for is GM Synchromesh. Every Honda mechanic I know recommends it if you're having tranny/synchro noise.

Theory
your gonna have to put new collar on and possible new gears depending on how bad the wear on the gears is. also stop grinding gears would help.
