Speedy88
hey i have a 91 civic dx 5spd, iv tryed 3 rpm tacs and they all read up to 3rpm then the rev limiter clicks in any ideas?
..SSR..
Cluster doesn't control rev limit, ECU does.
XScarAudio
i believe that is the rev limiter in neutral on all older hondas to prevent damage. When in gear / under load, it should be about 200-400 rpms past what it reads. For example, my EX rev limiter is 7200 rmp, but the tach shows just about 6900-7000. ..SSR..
All Honda tach's are usually over by a couple hundred RPM.
x_outlaw_x
mine stops at 7 and fuel cutoff is at 6800 rpms
Speedy88
yeah but i dont get it it reads up to 3 so if i add another 200-300 it would still be in the 3s the tac never goes up to 6000.rpm
..SSR..
Quit worrying about the tach and start worrying about what is wrong with your engine.
XScarAudio
yeah. I'd say take the cheaper advice given so far and revamp your ignition first
