eric94bubble Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 my motor has a cat beneath the manifold.I was told that it is robbing me of power and I should move it. Have gotten suggestions to go straight pipe to a muffler. Then there is use a stock manifold that does not have the cat ,or try headers to replace that section. What should I do?
SexyH22 Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 if you dont want to run a cat, which is illegal in most states, i suggesst getting a header whih bypasses the cat. i beleive bigbirdsucks has a header like that, so you may want to PM him.
..SSR.. Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 You'll gain 1-3hp from running straight pipe, not worth it. So I'm running open manifold.
BigBirdSucks Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 I had mine custom made. if you'd like, I can ask if he would make another one. I have to warn you though...it's not cheap, but it's great work and actually adds HP and torque.
eric94bubble Posted August 25, 2005 Author Posted August 25, 2005 So I'm running open manifold.? what is that?
SexyH22 Posted August 26, 2005 Posted August 26, 2005 it means he has a rxhaust mani, then nothing else, its just open.
