glacier921
My window is broken, and I want to get to my door panel. I can't open the door handle though. I opened up that little screw door and unscrewed that single screw, yet the door handle won't come out. What am I doing wrong here? It's so frustrating! Here's a picture of what I am talking about:
glacier921
Ok, seems like my last post didn't get the picture. Here is the pic from outside and inside: The ivory beige colored thing seems to be the object that is connecting my door handle to the aluminum side of the door. HELP! Thanks. Xeryon
Not sure sir, never taken an Accord panel off before. This is something that is likely covered in a Chiltons/Haynes manual so I would crack that bad boy open and see what it has to say.
Derrick Ludlow
theres a little plastic piece that controls the mechanism when you open the door with handle from inside if that is broken thats what your problem is its no bigger than quarter just replace it and it will be good
DennisF
On my '91, there are two screws that must be removed before the plastic trim piece can be removed. But, by your pics, you have only one screw. Once that screw is removed, you should be able to pull the door release lever inward (toward the driver's seat as though you're opening the door, then the plastic trim will slide out and off the release lever. It is a friction fit. Then you need to remove the actuating rod from the backside of the release lever by pressing away the plastic clip that surrounds the actuator rod. Then the rod will slide out of the actuator. The rest of the door panel is retained by plastic clips and screws in the bottom of your armrest. Hope this procedure works on your '93.
