pepsi66
I'm looking to get a 98-01 prelude and I don't know if I should get the SH or not. What would be the best for modifications?
Xeryon
Non-SH if you plan to modify. You can modify an SH, but you are spending money up front for a higher trim level car only to replace the very parts that make it a more expensive model. Of those years the 99 was the best year IMO. It was the first year of the single-tone color interior and not that half tan/black crap. It had the full 200hp h22a2 and the 00-01 models had a full HEPA filtration system in them and a few other assorted goodies which added over 100 pounds to the curb weight of the vehicle, which you won't find documented on any wiki database entry. I can't find the documentation to support this on short notice but I think the 97-98 Preludes had a h22a4 in them as well, but something about the intake manifold and air intake were different which produced a slightly lower 190hp power output from the factory. It was a simple airflow issue and was remedied by switching the intakes. the engines were otherwise identical.
