Pike
Howdy, Anyone have any ideas about what my CVT transmission is doing? Got a 2001 Civic HX with the CVT (continuously variable transmission). It began to shudder loudly upon accelerating from a dead stop. Dealer drained and refilled the ATF, and said to me that the car must have been driven real hard, judging by the unusual smell of the fluid. This puzzled heck out of me, since I drive the car real easy (got 19K miles). Anyway, shudder is gone, but to my thinking, the smelly fluid was a symptom of a problem, and not the problem. No sure I'm crazy about the CVT... Thanks for any thoughts... weiner H Colorado
