1.5 vs 1.6 Distributor

Recommended Posts

I went to mount my 1.5 liter stock distributor on my 1.6 liter vtech head and the mounting brackets are different. I can get 2 brackets to line up, but not the 3rd.

I wanted to know if i can just make a bracket to secure the 3rd bolt, or is the 1.5 distributor totally different than the 1.6 liter vtec distributor? why?

thanks! drew

Well i have a 1.5 bottom end, with a 1.6 vtec head...mini me...So i need the 1.6 vtec distributor it sounds like.

I got my car running with the 1.5 distributor, just with one bolt holding it to the head and i had to mount a new bracket on it to make the difference for the timing. Runs, but its a little rough, so i'll try the new 1.6.
