'96 Delsol check engine light

Today my check engine light came on. Since it's a '96 it is OBD2 compliant, so I hooked up my OBD2 scanner to the port to read the code and nothing. There is no power to the scanner, no lights come on, nothing. I know the scanner works since I checked with another vehicle.

The car seems to run fine except that the CEL is on.

Any idea what might be wrong and what to try to diagnose the problem?

disconnect your battery and reconnect it. If it comes back, try and scan it again.

I figured it out. It turns out that the OBD2 connector gets power from the same circuit as the interior dome light. I checked the 7.5 A fuse and it was bad. I replaced it and now everything works.

I was able to pull the code...turned out to be P0135 which is the front O2 sensor. Replaced it and cleared the code and all is right with the world.

Turns out that by fixing the dome light fuse, it also fixed the intermittant wiper that wasn't.
