hiemsnox Posted March 20, 2009 Share Posted March 20, 2009 Long story short im getting a used turbo kit from a guy for $400 and its for my d16z6. my main question is what is the importance of getting the ECU tuned... cause i was wondering if i am able to install the parts now... barely run any boost... then save up and buy the software and chip. Sport Injection Posted March 23, 2009 Share Posted March 23, 2009 Don't mess around and just get your ECU tuned. Even if its just a basic map from someone with a similar build as yours. Most turbos are going to send a rod through your block or crack a piston on wastegate with a D series and stock ECU. Save yourself the trouble and get your ECU chipped by a reputable tuner.
