grunt Posted February 1, 2008 Posted February 1, 2008 im going through my 99 si and i cant figure it out what will happen if the knock sensor is bad ? i have hardly any power at low rpms and im going through fuel like crazy
lceah Posted February 1, 2008 Posted February 1, 2008 You should post this in the "civic" section... and if your knock sensor is bad, what is happening to you is what would be expected to happen! your timing and air/fuel ratio are not optimum so your car is not fuel efficient... are you going to replace the sensor?
grunt Posted February 1, 2008 Author Posted February 1, 2008 no im not i ordered my ecu and it just has it removed
cranny Posted February 2, 2008 Posted February 2, 2008 your engine will run fine without t. honda ecu's dont use the knock sensor to make real time ignition changes so ive learned recently when reading about tuning. sounds like you might have a bad O2 snsor. what ecu are you talking about a chipped ecu?
lceah Posted February 2, 2008 Posted February 2, 2008 so then it's not the sensor...I learned something new...thanks cranny
Hatch92 Posted February 2, 2008 Posted February 2, 2008 it sounds like and O2 sensor and/or a plugged cat
