road_scholar
I posted over at Acura Forums, but I do not see any current responses on other topics so I thought I would try here as it's a Honda motor anyway.... 1996 LS Special Edition (Auto) Hi, I'm new to the forum - thanks for reading. I have an Integra with 168,000 miles on it and it is starting to feel a little "tired". I have changed the plugs, wires, gear oil, air filter and engine oil - What other types of things can I do to wake up my car again? Are there any essentials to be done at this mileage mark? Timing belt was changed at 140k, along with everything else in the vicinity (water pump, cam seals, aux belts, etc...). I have a stock motor w/no modifications. Should I also switch over to synthetic oils as well? Thanks in advance. PS> Not looking for "aftermarket" mods, just want to regain stock performance. Thanks. stickmonster(lol)
I would think a partial rebuild if not a full rebuild would help. Replace all the gaskets, bolts, sealants and a violent cleaning should do the trick. I would also recommend a fuel pump/injector cleaner (something like STP)
