no way to remove rear seats - EK1 Hatch

hey all, ive been scouring the web for days trying to remove my rear seats, but my hatch seems to be nothing like anyone else's. ive noticed some have bolts on the back of the seats connecting to the hinges and some merely have black plastic clips on the sides. mine literally has neither. and the seats dont budge so it couldnt be the prev owner forgetting the clips. i have the bottom half of the seat out but i cannot see a single way to get the top half out. i need to replace it as its gone mouldy, almost tempted to bin the whole project and stick to mitsubishis.
