Use a volt meter and test that your solenoid is getting power from ignition. Is there an aftermarket alarm installed?

no aftermarket alarm has been installed only thing not stock on the car is the stereo. & how would i go about testing my solenoid?

New starter maybe

starter works fine the car will start if i connect a wire from battery to starter car will fire and run. but will not crank if i turn the key.
