Honda Civic 2005 EX: Difference between Serpentine Belt and V-Belt

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys, hope everyone is having a great time. What is the difference between Serpentine Belt and V-Belt? I have my Civic 2005, and the dealership said that both belts needs to get replaced as soon as possible. The cost for Serpentine Belt is $99.99 and the cost for V-Belt is $79. I just want to make sure that I am not getting ripped off. Thanks for your help guys!

they're called drive belts. one is for your alternator and the other for ac/power steering. both run off the crank pulley.

i work at a dealership. no one is trying to screw you over. they're just giving you preventative maintenance so you dont break down and get towed into the shop and saving you a tow bill.
