maxehrlich44
my 99 vtec accord has recently started acting up. more and more frequently, when i turn the ignition key, the little green key icon doesn't flash and the car doesn't start. it seems to be some kind of theft deterrent and the car can't read my key. i've tried using both of my keys with the same result. some time later the car will read the key fine and start. how can i fix this or get around it?? please help! Jeff Collision
It's possible that the tumbler itself is faulty or that the ignition switch interlock system has an issue.
maxehrlich44
thanks. from what i've read that seems to be a pretty common issue with this model. what kind of job is it cost wise and do i have to do it at the dealer so they can program new keys, etc? i'm scared it's going to end up costing a grand to fix the problem.
