Ajc812
My temp gauge would fluctuate and run hot, but normally come back down to normal, or slightly higher than normal. In addition to this, the heater would take longer to warm up, and typically cool down if stopped at a red light. Took the car to the dealer, they say it has to do with 1 cylinder leak, estimated cost of repair $1700. They found little damage if any, but this 'could cause further damage' This is a 2005 Civic EX SE with 100K. Routine maint performed every 10K and oil changes every 5K. Any thoughts on whether this is a legit cause for the temp gauge and heat issues? Almost seems like a faulty termostat. Not to discount the cylinder being an issue... Ajc812
It's been 1 month since I took in in for maintenance when this was reported. Temperature gauge has been flawless - never goes a hair over even temp. Heater working better than ever as well. NOTHING was repaired with their reported cylinder leak. Any thoughts on what could have been happening and why it has stopped?
