Stevotron5000
So I bought both new (used) 97 seals for my del sol since the original ones are pretty badly deteriorated and leaky. My problem is the old owner was obviously a smoker (unknown to me.) I'd rather deal with crappy leaky seals than put cigarette smoke infused rubber in my car. I know there are ways using baking soda and dish washing soap to get rid of the odor on rubber but I'm wondering if it's safe to do on the del sol seals? Should I worry at all about damaging the seals covering it with baking soda for about a day and then soaking it overnight in soapy water? Any input would be greatly appreciated since I need to know whether to continue my search for decent seals or go ahead and try to work with these.
