will a 87 accord motor run without the ecu

Any motor can be made to operate outside the original car. Whether you can run your 2.0 liter Accord motor with or without an ECU depends on whether the motor is equipped with CVCC or PGM-Fi; the latter not being possible without significant changes to the motor. In short, you cannot run the PGM-Fi Accord motor without an ECU. The closest you will get to running it without an ECU is to dump the PGM-Fi and swap in the CVCC.

 

So what is the project, and remember, this thread is pointless without pics.

i am wanting to put the motor in a sand rail dune buggie. it is carburated not fuel injection. and thanks for your input
