adrenalfin Posted June 10, 2009 Share Posted June 10, 2009 The alternator can be taken out along the firewall and out the passenger side. don't have to mess with the drive axle at all. i am handy but not a pro and i did it myself. the shop told me the drive axle boot was torn and to replace the axle along with alternator. the boot was not torn after i thoroughly inspected it.-haha..will have to loosen speedometer / hose bracket by firewall and top wiring bracket. just keep twisting it around and out it comes. took me 1.5 hours to get it out and i took my time.
